Allylix, Inc. is a biotechnology company that uses genetically engineered yeast to manufacture fine chemicals by fermentation. Allylix has the following full time positions in its Lexington, Kentucky research laboratory:
Research Scientist - Molecular Biologist
Allylix, Inc. is seeking a molecular biologist. The primary duties of this position will be engineering metabolic pathways in yeast or other microorganisms for production of chemicals by fermentation. In addition, the ability to isolate novel genes from genomic DNA is desirable. The candidate will be self-motivated, able to think and work independently, while contributing to a team effort to achieve business and technical objectives.
Qualifications
A PhD in microbiology, molecular biology or related discipline is required. The ideal candidate will have experience with molecular biology and genomic methodologies including PCR techniques, molecular cloning, and mutagenesis. In addition, experience with qPCR and gene chip analysis is desirable. Strong analytical and biochemistry skills will also be desirable. This job requires excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
