Valencene is an orange flavor/fragrance which is currently used in beverages, chewing gum flavors and in the production of nootkatone. Today it is extracted from the peel of the valencene orange that makes its supply and cost highly dependent upon the harvest in any particular year and therefore subject to large fluctuations. Allylix’ fermentation process offers a stable supply of valencene at a fifth or less of the cost for currently available product.
Allylix launched valencene in 2010 and has received excellent customer feedback on its quality. Noteworthy comments include its wonderful juicy orange note and it is deemed to be equivalent to the best competing extracted valencene on the market.
